Please don't bother anyone else about my condition either. I'm not dying, if that's what you want to know. But you should worry about securing a place to sleep for the night for everyone involved in our group.
Murder in the cafeteria. 2 students. None that we know. [ so far, anyway. he's not sure if this is a one-time occurance or if there will be more later on. ]
Iwaizumi told me you weren't feeling well. Sorry about that, but I need to know if you're going to be alright.
[ he doesn't know how serious the thing that iwaizumi mentioned was, after all. and he doesn't know if things will just get worse for the captain following this bit of news. ]
this feels wrong why are you the only one in my inbox 1/2
[Now, Iwaizumi had told Keisuke to stop by the gym storage room "literally whenever" (or something along those lines) should he ever have something he wanted to ask or just catch up or whatever. Usually that sort of open-endedness would spell disaster for Keisuke, typically a little too hesitant to go out of his comfort zone and actually approach others for such things. But he's been trying really hard to not only make but maintain new friends, and it's been a while since he saw Iwaizumi in the halls or whatever, so...
Here he is. It's several hours after class, and he assumes a lot of people might be drifting around to clubs or maybe to an early dinner. Keisuke's decided to not show up empty-handed, bringing some snacks from the vending machine that he and Rin managed to accumulate. The food hadn't been that lately, so he thought it'd be a good gesture.]
Hey? Hajime? [He calls out as he nears the storage room. He... actually isn't sure he's here. If he's not, he might just text... maybe he should've done that to start out, oops.] You there?
[The storage room door opens and it's not exactly the person he's looking for who sticks his head out, but Oikawa can't go and ignore that someone is calling for Iwaizumi by name, and it's with a bright sort of smile that he opens the door more completely, now that he can see the stranger doesn't look threatening.]
Ah, hellooo~ Iwa-chan isn't here right now, but he'll be back soon probably if you want to wait for him. Are you a new friend?
[ by the time the sun rises, dal dal hasn't slept a wink. she's at least a little more comfortable, though, even if her company for the evening had finally managed to nod off sometime between 4 and 6 am. she hadn't really been paying that much attention, but she's guessing from the slight ache starting to settle on her shoulder where iwaizumi's head had nodded off to, she'd guess it'd been at least an hour.
she'd taken to watching the faint rise and falls of chests around the area where she'd been tucked into, a corner where she's able to sit up a little and watch the rest from a decent vantage point. she assumes this is why iwaizumi chooses to sleep here, of all places, as it would allow him a look around the space where everyone sleeps fairly easily, and that just sounds like the sort of thing he'd do, wouldn't it?
what a softie.
because of that, though, she's close enough to see when one of their number finally stirs, and close enough still to address him with a voice quiet enough that only he should be able to hear. ]
You should go back to sleep. Your beauty could use a couple more hours.
[He doesn't feel like he slept at all, even if he surely passed out for a few hours. Still sitting up all the way and rubbing his face, almost blankly reaching around the new figure in their sleeping corner just to be sure Iwaizumi was there - he can tell by the bicep he touches - Oikawa leans in a bit more so he can answer without similarly waking anyone else.]
Are you trying to say I'm not a pretty sleeper as it is? So mean, Dal Dal-chan.
[It's less sass and more of a sleepy tease, but with his head slouching down against her other shoulder for a moment, he quiets like he's about to fall asleep again - he doesn't. But staying like this is nice, just all together in a pile of people he is scared for at any hour of the day and night. He might not have known her for as long as any of these kids, but Dal Dal's presence does help Oikawa feel a bit more relaxed.
Another pair of eyes for all of them to be safe.]
You haven't slept at all, have you. [His voice was softer in asking, without lifting his head.]
[It's one of those nights where he just can't sleep, though thankfully for once it's not because of nightmares. He's already spoken to Tsukishima... as unhelpful as that talk was, and really he doesn't want to bring this up with Oikawa at all.
In fact there are 1 million other people he'd rather talk to about this than Oikawa, but at the same time he can't think of anyone better suited for it. If it wasn't about himself it wouldn't be as embarrassing, but after the 50th shift as he twists away from the other teen he reaches up with his left hand, gripping his hair in frustration.
Why did it have to come up in a place like this?]
Oikawa? You asleep?
[It's said quietly enough that it shouldn't disturb him or anyone else if they are, but.
[Speaking up softly and reaching over to thump Iwaizumi lightly in the chest, Oikawa did sound pretty tired despite admitting how not asleep he is; Iwai has been flip flopping around literally all night, and Oikawa was far too jumpy to ignore it every time and stay asleep. Rolling over and shifting to scoot in closer so they could talk without needing to speak loudly, he flopped his arm across his friends chest and waited for him to continue, turning his eyes up to look at him through the darkness of the room.]
i'm doing much better now that i've had a chance to lay down.
it's fine, no need for you to be apologizing, tsuki-chan. he might be pretty weird, but he didnt ever strike me as the type to do something that dumb, so there had to be something else to it.
[It's been a long day of trying to help people, to give out warnings that things here can be bad and you need support. It's all well and good until he's been bringing up bad memories, memories of the day he lost his fingers and Oikawa was taken. It's easy enough to get to sleep with how they're all huddled together, Oikawa slumped across him so he's in his sights.
It doesn't stop the nightmares tonight though.
He feels his feet moving through the hallways, hearing the clatter of doors swinging shut and banging. Sometimes there's a slither than follows it. He runs faster, breath falling short as the screams start.
Hajime!! Hajime!!! Haaaajimeeeee!!!! They get louder and more desperate as he tries to catch up, watching in horror as the door closes and all he can feel is emptiness.
It's too late to realise he's cried out in his sleep, yelling 'no', 'stop' or something like that but he doesn't register it until his own voice wakes him out, a cold sweat coating his skin as he stares blindly into the darkness, trying to hold back another scream when it feels as though the dream hasn't ended.]
[Oikawa is awake long before Iwaizumi has started really yelling - from the moment he has started shifting around and thrashing his head back and forth, and he is already sitting up to catch Iwaizumi by the shoulders to keep him from hurting himself. Bringing one hand up to blindly touch his face, cradling then when he can lean in close, Oikawa just puts himself directly in Iwaizumi's sight, soothing with both contact and whispers, as if the yelling didn't wake everyone else. He knows everyone is awake, he doesn't care what they think right now. He hates that he's the one who has ended up doing this to him in the end, giving him these nightmares just because he couldn't help calling for him in terror.]
Hajime. I'm right here. Shhh shh, I'm here, see, you can see me, right?
[Pressing his forehead against his friends and shutting his eyes, he just curls his other arm around him firmly to solidify that he's right here.] You're okay. I'm okay.
