[He tenses up a little at first, puffing out one breath before he grits his teeth. Oikawa really has no idea. He's definitely going to laugh.]

You're going to laugh.

[He's already partly resigned himself to that.] But if you promise and then do, at least I have a reason to hit you for it.

That's not fair! You're looking for a reason to hit me!

[Pouting with those words and thumping his head in place, Oikawa still kneads his hand all the way until he's rubbing the back of Iwaizumi's hands, still offering the support with his actions even if his words are simple and argumentive.]

If you don't really want to tell me, I can just roll over and sleep again. I'll promise to try my best to not laugh, how's that?

No, I... can't work it out. [He's quieter when he says it, mulling over his words. It leads to a few minutes of silence though, a few minutes where he evens his breathing out.]

It's been bothering me for a while now, so. [Only now he's getting frustrated with himself now because he never fucking hesitates. It's why the rest comes out flatly, no matter how hilarious it might be coming from him.] How did--do--you know when you like someone?

[It's actually really cute listening to Iwaizumi struggle with his words; he so rarely has this problem that Oikawa makes no move to roll away and stop listening. His hand stills in the soothing though when the question finally comes and for a moment, Oikawa actually moves his hand up to feel his bicep as if actually making sure this is Iwaizumi. Sitting up on his elbow to look down at him then with both eyebrows raised, it wasn't a laugh that wanted to bubble out.

"Iwa-chan, are you growing up on me finally?"

He just barely manages to curb that though, because he can tell it's clearly important, just.]

How to... tell. When you think you like someone. [Ah. This feels strange.]

Hmm! Well. You can't really get them out of your mind, I guess is a start. You're always worried about them in some form, and even when you're together, you want to make them smile. [There's more, but he pauses to wait to hear how he takes these parts so far, but he can't help thinking about that strange feeling he has.

Iwaizumi has a crush on someone?]

[His eyes flicker up a little when Oikawa grabs his bicep, wondering what the hell he's doing, but then he's peeking over and his head is twisting back forward, staring at his hands that are limp on the floor next to him. He can feel his ears burning a bit, just because this entire situation seems dumb but.

It's been over a week.]

That's pretty much everyone--is there anything else? [His throat sounds drier now, hoping that after this something will click as a yes or no.

Any kind of answer would be great.]

You want them happy. With you, preferably. Your heart thuds a lot, your palms get sweaty when you talk to them. You want to do things like hold them or kiss them or hold their hand.

[Giving a half smile, a small chortle and dropping that hand from his arm to simply pat where he had grabbed before, Oikawa drifts his hand away even as he can't find it in him to settle down again.]

You can't say that's with everyone, Iwa-chan, or you have too big of a heart and aren't looking at it in a romantic sense.

[He just stares ahead for a long moment, letting the words sink in. Thinks of the times when they have held hands (but that's happened a lot for comfort here, hasn't it? Even Oikawa does that with him here.) he thinks of how many people he's actually held for support too, because that list is probably almost as long.

But he'd never had that weird feeling with it, had he? Is that what that was?

Then there was. The other thing.

It's hard to think about that though without letting his teeth dig into his lip. It feels weird to admit this at all, that it's even come up. Maybe it's just because they're all emotional here or something, he doesn't know. Maybe it really is just because of that singular moment in time because it was such a big first for him he's been thrown off guard.

So, quietly amd almost as a whisper he says:] They kissed me.

[pinpointing]

... Are you okay with that? Losing your first kiss to... whoever. It was.

[Oikawa almost asked, it's on the tip of his tongue to ask, and yet he doesn't. Iwaizumi deserves some privacy for something like this, but he was free to tell him if he wanted. That didn't change how curious he was though.]

You're really thinking about it, is that what brought this up then?

I don't know. It was pretty much out of pity anyway, I think. [Ah, how sad.] it's not as though I purposely avoided any of it there just never was anyone.

[And now there's this weird mess.]

I didn't think about it much before, though at one point they asked me if I was asking them on a date. [??? He still doesn't know how it came to that either.]

[pinpointing]

Iwa-chan, you're more charming than you think.

[Laughing softly, it wasn't out of teasing him despite what Iwaizumi might think. Flopping down again and shifting his arms around him slowly, threading his fingers together with both hands so his best friend was effectively locked into being hugged, Oikawa sets his face against the back of his neck again.]

Go on the date if you want to go on a date with them, that's how you really find out if you like them or not. Maybe it wasn't out of pity, maybe they did want to kiss you. [He hasn't said she. Was it a guy? Was he just trying to be ambiguous?]

Shut up. [It comes out as a grumble, accepting the hold without much more of a complaint, he just relaxes a little more now he hasn't been outright laughed at, even if it still sounds like he's being teased.

That's easy enough to deal with.]

I can't yet. [He pauses, using the time to shift himself a little so he's more uncomfortable. Considering he isn't really trying to be ambiguous past not giving names, it gets easier to give Oikawa more details now.] She's still upset about what happened last week. And. [At least he can accept the rest, really.] I'm 90% sure it was out of pity, it came after those stupid ghosts.

[Which he probably shouldn't have said because that's a good indicator of when it happened, but at least this way he'll get a fuller picture.]

Do you wish it hadn't been out of pity then?

[His mind is working, even if he isn't reacting as much as Iwaizumi thought he might; it was clearly throughout the hauntings of the week that it happened, when he was out with other friends and taking care of other people and. Oikawa idly curls his arms just a little more tightly, possessive without really realizing it.]

You could try it again when the moment is right. Kiss her. See if the feeling remains.

[He doesn't think anything of the tighter hug though, assuming it's supposed to be for support. How naive.]

Not really, if you've said you aren't sure about you're feelings to begin with and you want to confirm if she's okay with it. Being upfront is key to not being told "you led me on".

[Ah. Does it sound like someone learned something from his previous girlfriends? Maybe.]

So I'd need to ask first, right? [It's to confirm, so he doesn't fuck this up if he ever does try it. He's not sure if he will or not, if he'll just brush it aside like all other parts of this.]

[Letting Iwaizumi confirm that and then cracking a smile at that noise and the movement, Oikawa just rubs his face in place with a little laugh, opening his eyes to stare at some freckles absently.]

Because you've never thought about it before or really had crushes and you feel like you should have some inkling because of your age and life situations. Because most people our age have at least come to understand crushes and all the ups and downs that go with why it's called a "crush", not full blown love. [When did I become a fucking love guru.]

[He squirms to try and nudge his elbow back for the laugh, struggling to aim it at the other's ribs when he laughs.]

It's not like I never thought someone was attractive or anything, but back home I didn't have a reason to care. They were in class or whatever anyway, it was easy enough to not really dwell on it. They're just... [He can't finish it, he doesn't want to.]

[He's going to wait for him to finish it, squeezing his arms tighter to avoid that elbow aiming for his already sore ribs, he isn't better yet damnit, stop abusing him! That laugh still is there, soft and muffled when he presses his face more firmly in place and lightly swats at his hands as if they are the culprit.]

Different. [It's the first word that comes out, followed by:] Special? Not like Yachi or Hinami but... [He cares too much already either way.]

She's just as dumb and reckless as you are sometimes and keeps getting injured and even though I know she can handle herself I still want to try and help. I do that for a lot of people at this point though so I don't know if it's just because she's a girl or not. Compared to back home where we had matches to worry about and exams and stuff I guess I've had more time to think here. Especially after... [He trails off, rolling his wrist of his right hand even if Oikawa can't quite see.]

You might be weak to her type. Maybe that's why you're thinking of her as special.

[Oikawa doesn't see that movement, no, but because of where his hands eventually drifted, he feels that right one move and his fingers curl gingerly around the wrist then, as if placating the motion with touch.]

So. I don't know. Go for it if you feel you want to. If you think she might feel the same. It can't hurt, and the most that would happen is that she expresses she only wants to be friends. Right?

[Patting in place then and lifting his head to playfully blow air against the back of his ear, Oikawa detaches entirely to roll over and away, shifting to sit up and rub his face. He isn't tired anymore, his brain doesn't want to turn off of this instead of everything else he should be actually worrying about. Maybe he should try a shower...]

[He goes quiet after that, relaxing his hand once Oikawa's curls around his wrist. Really? He has no idea if she does, especially as the whole point of it was because that ghost called him a loser for never being kissed, and it was more to diminish that title.

He doesn't know, but that was the point of asking, wasn't it?

Granted, over-thinking it now goes out the window when Oikawa blows air on his ear, shoulder jumping up to block the weird sensation as a growl forms in his throat.] Oikawa... [Thankfully he knows he needs to keep his voice down or that might have been a yell. It quickly switches to confusion though when he pulls away to sit up, finally looking back over his shoulder and...

[He'd have given a chuckle about that growl if he weren't getting muddled in his own thoughts - but he still gives Iwaizumi a bright obnoxious smile when his friend looks over. Reaching to push the stolen pillow he's had since nearly suffocating and lifting Iwaizumi's head to slip it under his, Oikawa stretches his arms over his head.]

Mhm~ I need to pee, I'll be back in a minute.

[ Kuroo hasn’t really been mentioning it all that much, but he’s been stealing naps all by his lonesome in the daylight—mostly because he absolutely refuses to call those two out on the noises they tend to make. It wasn’t their fault that they were dealing with so much trauma, but this…

They’re lucky he’s sleeping facing away from them, or they might have seen even the slightest twitch of his lips when the conversation careens from being a very different kind of suggestive. It’s a damn shame that he can’t really get a good look at their faces, however. He wonders if the introduction of a third player into this little love game should warrant that much of a reaction, anyway.

Regardless, like Oikawa’s kidneys, Kuroo finds that he’s no longer able to hold himself back, and immediately raises his hand from where he’d been lying on his side, with that thin blanket draped over his shoulders, and with his head resting on top of his schoolbag. ]

So do I. Mind if I come with~? [ He sits up, smiling lewdly in the dark. ]

[Maybe it wasn't too weird that it came right after, he's about to say he'll go with him when he hears Kuroo pipe up, saying he wanted to go. The fact that he heard that, mind you, probably means that he's heard other things too.

Just kill him now, honestly.]

Makes sense, he shouldn't go alone anyway.

[There's strain in his voice though, as if he wants to ask just how much of that Kuroo heard. Hopefully not too much. It's why he rolls onto his front and promptly stuffs his face in the pillow Oikawa had pushed over, finding that his face feels hotter now. Fuck.]

[Oikawa wanted to go alone, in all honesty, but he knew logically it would be a mistake. At least with Iwaizumi embarrassed and Kuroo willing to go, he just beams and leans over to ruffle Iwaizumi's hair while dragging the blanket over those red ears with a little laugh and moves to stand up.]
