[Nope, he's tossing it up at an estimate of where Yosuke could possibly jump - he doesn't have Kageyama's ability to pinpont toss, but he's still got experience and Yosuke isn't that different in height than several people he's played with.]
Seikyou Academy. [ They never say which prefecture it's in, so pretend she mentions a more rural one here... ] If there's anything it's infamous for, it's for its ghost stories!
[ That are all her doing. Passing the ball back! ]
Ghost stories, mm? Sounds pretty interesting to me!
[His attention actually comes off the ball though to look at her with surprise, making a little wah sound when the ball bounces off his head - whadfsjkhjfk??]
You're only in middle school? But -- [YOU LOOK TOO MATURE FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL] You seem so much more mature, Yuuko-chan!!
Ahaha, really? I wonder where you're looking, Tooru-kun.
[ Though from her tone, one can tell she knows what he's talking about. Her body is too curvaceous for any middle school student, but over the years she's seen many girls like herself, so she doesn't find it too strange. She walks away to fetch the ball, but after bending over to pick it up, she lingers, tapping the ball in thought. ]
[Ah, he shouldn't. She is a bit younger than him, but she really doesn't act that age. Oikawa honestly doesn't downright leer at her, he adverts his eyes politely when she bends over to get the ball - but he wouldn't disagree that he thought she was really attractive.]
Huh? Aw, you don't have to leave! You're not distracting me so much that I can't concentrate... it actually helps, having a cute girl around. If I'm still performing at my best even with you around, it means I'm concentrating properly~
[Folding his hands behind his head and chuckling, giving a bigger smile, he lightly scuffs his heel against the floor.]
[ ... Right. Yuuko actually hasn't played with anyone in a long while. Her memories might be hazy given how warped her sense of time is, but the gesture is enough to make her hide a giggle behind the ball before smiling back at Oikawa. ]
It's part of the rules that make the game challenging.
[There's no harm done in the end really; Oikawa just trots after the ball to pick it up and bounce it a few times, before starting to walk to the edge of the court.]
If there's no challenge, it's not quite as fun, you know? Part of why anyone plays any kinds of games with rules, right? [Smiling, then backing up a bit to toss the ball up - he might just be doing one of his killer serves.]
So hey, do you want to spike? I'm a setter, so you will get a perfect toss to hit!
[Moving to pick up another ball and bounce it into place a few times, Oikawa starts bouncing it off his arms next, slowly working to bring the ball higher so it's in a proper tossing position.]
Why would I get angry? This is the first time I'm setting for you, I have yet to even learn how high you can jump and where your best place to spike is at.
[Smiling sweeter and making his way closer to the net to pop the ball up high, he brings his hands up.]
Alright, here it comes! [He has an estimate at least for her, just based on her height; so here it is, a simple easy toss that was a little away from the net, but high enough to clear no matter where she hits it.]
[Yosuke you might want to dodge it instead. The expression on his face is 90% you don't hit this one, and part just a wide grin. He has a point to this, he really does, but scaring Yosuke a little might be fun too.
DODGE IT BOY DODGE IT this is a dangerous critical incoming!]
[He hasn't been taught to dodge yet. He needs more EXP first. He can't go making fancy moves when he's only managed to pop the ball up (properly) like...once.
Instead, he's gonna let it collide with his face; there WAS an effort to dodge it, but a slack jaw and arms that were lifted....but way too far apart to do anything about it. IN B4 BROKEN NOSE.
[Oikawa is moderately proud of himself for having a good estimate, because she spiked it pretty dead on - the rest of his expression is bright and pure pride that she hit it really well! Pumping his fist and giving her a thumbs up, Oikawa is moving under the net to go chase that ball down.]
